Osaka is known as a city of culture through its history and festivals. One of them is the festival of lights that turns the country into a place of celebration full of majestic lights and stunning colors lighting up Osaka’s night sky.

Towards the end of the year, the Japanese city will welcome visitors with a beautiful Festival of the Lights at two locations such as Midosuji Street and the Nakanoshima area.

Midosuji Avenue is an iconic street located in the center of Osaka City. You can see colorful lights along the way, and this event was recognized by the Guinness World Records in January 2015 as ‘the brightest tree in a street’.

While in Nakanoshima is a place where you can see many works of art and culture of the city. Every year, at Nakanoshima Park which is one of the most iconic landmarks on the Osaka waters, it becomes the venue for the light show in Osaka.

This area is walkable, so this location is perfect for a date or sightseeing in winter.

Access to this place is also quite easy, you can go to Shin-Osaka Station, then take the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line to Yodoyabashi Station. From Kansai International Airport, take the Nankai Airport Line to Nankai Namba Station and change to the Midosuji Line of the Osaka Metro to Yodoyabashi Station.

Alternatively, you can use Shin-Osaka Station to take the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line to Yodoyabashi Station. Meanwhile, from Kansai International Airport, take the Nankai Airport Line to Nankai Namba Station and change to the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line to Yodoyabashi Station.
